MARRAPALOOZA began as an idea between David and Hannah. We are grassroots music promoters who have brought bands from all over the world to Newcastle, Durham and Sunderland and Leeds since 2006.

We thought we’d try to make a platform for UK’s unsigned and small label talent from various genres in the North East and imagined an affordable festival that would allow music fans in our great city to take in venues all over Ouseburn Valley.

In year one, we brought close to 40 bands from all over the UK to Newcastle and sold our ticket capacity out.

Marrapalooza is ran by a group of grassroots promoters in the North East, we don’t have any sponsorship or large business help. We don’t work for a large promoter or agency - we make our living in regular jobs! so the support you show by picking up tickets is invaluable and helps us keep doing this.
